Laura Cechanowicz – Production Designer
Laura Cechanowicz is a mixed media artist with a not so secret love of production design.
Her training includes experience in the Los Angeles film industry and many (possibly too many) years of school. She received her BA with honors from the University of Michigan with majors in Film & Video, Psychology and German; her MA in Film Studies from the University of Iowa, where she met the incredible crew of Caihong City; her MFA in Animation from the University of Southern California; and she begins her PhD in Media Arts and Practice at USC this fall. As a production designer, Laura merges her conceptual and technical skills in world-building to design immersive environments that both reflect and shape a character’s consciousness.
Laura paints, designs, creates installations, immersive environments, teaches, produces, studies neuroscience, and passionately enjoys creating and bringing together groups of people. She is dedicated to creating films that are challenging reflections on diversity, and Caihong City certainly fits within this framework.
You can see more of Laura’s work at her Website or on her Vimeo.
